INCOM RESOURCES‘ Research Project on Food-grade PET Has Won The Third Prize of The Packaging Industry Science and Technology Award

Mar. 02, 23

Recently, the China Packaging Federation and China Packaging Corporation announced the "Decision on Awarding the 2022 Packaging Industry Science and Technology Award." The project "Key Technology Research and Application of Green Packaging Evaluation -- Recycling and Reuse of Food-Grade PET Materials," jointly completed by INCOM RESOURCES and the Shandong Product Quality Inspection Institute, won the third prize of the Science and Technology Award.

The Packaging Industry Science and Technology Award

The Packaging Industry Science and Technology Award is a national industry award established jointly by the China Packaging Federation and China Packaging Corporation, approved and registered by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China. It is one of the most influential awards in the domestic packaging industry. In recent years, the participation of universities and research institutions has increased year by year, and the overall emphasis of companies in the industry on scientific and technological awards has also increased year by year, resulting in continuous improvement in the overall level and quality of projects and a significant increase in the difficulty of winning.

Currently, the global food-grade RPET industry is developing rapidly, and China is one of the largest plastic packaging production and consumption countries in the world. Considering the development of circular economy and the effective improvement of resource utilization efficiency, innovative applications of recycled plastics in food packaging in China are also facing new market opportunities and challenges.

INCOM RESOURCES

As a professional enterprise that has been practicing the closed-loop industrial chain of food-grade RPET earlier in China, INCOM built a food-grade recycled polyester slice production factory in China in 2005 and has been deeply involved in the high-value-added recycling and utilization of PET for nearly 20 years, committed to building a more scientific and efficient food-grade RPET technology solution. The project " Key Technology Research and Application of Green Packaging Evaluation -- Recycling and Reuse of Food-Grade PET Materials " that won the award is also the embodiment of INCOM's years of experience and progress in the industry. The Shandong Product Quality Inspection Institute made The Challenging Test for INCOM's food-grade recycled PET production process twice in 2010 and 2017. The results showed that INCOM's production process could ensure the quality of recycled bottle-grade polyester slices themselves and could fully remove various possible pollutants. The recycled PET resin and finished bottles meet the corresponding national food safety standards, and recycled PET resin can be used for food packaging within the prescribed scope and conditions. INCOM has also become one of the few professional enterprises in China that have undergone challenging tests on the production line and passed.

Challenging tests are a critical component of this project's research, providing reliable research processes and detailed data support for the final results. Winning this award has not only affirmed INCOM's production process and products but also provided useful support for scientific research and industrial upgrading related to the circular use of food-grade RPET in the plastic packaging industry, helping promote and apply key technologies in the industry, thereby building a more complete and efficient food-grade RPET ecological system and promoting industrial upgrading and the development of green packaging.

The 20th National Congress provides more specific guidance and deployment for the construction of "Beautiful China." INCOM actively responds to the national strategy, practices key technologies in the green packaging industry, accelerates the construction of a circular economy, and is willing to work together with various forces to share experiences and contribute to the development of green packaging and the circular economy."
